Moving Archer Forward Initiative Announces Final Business Survey Deadline for Garfield Ridge Participation
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Garfield Ridge ·
The City of Chicago's Department of Planning and Development has announced that local Garfield Ridge businesses have until December 15, 2025, to participate in the Moving Archer Forward business survey. This important initiative, which began in spring 2025, is evaluating land use, zoning, and development opportunities along Archer Avenue with a focus on transit access and Equitable Transit-Oriented Development opportunities near CTA Orange Line stations.
The comprehensive study covers portions of several Chicago communities including Garfield Ridge and is made possible through a grant from the RTA's Community Planning Program. The project area includes portions of Ward 23 represented by Alderman Silvana Tabares, among other wards. Chicago-based Site Design Group, an award-winning landscape architecture and urban design firm, is leading the consultant team supporting the Department of Planning and Development in this effort.
Garfield Ridge business owners and residents interested in contributing to the future development of their neighborhood can access the business survey through the City of Chicago's website. Community members can also email questions or comments to [email protected]. This project represents a significant opportunity for local stakeholders to help shape the future of one of Garfield Ridge's most important commercial corridors.
