Albany Park's Workshop Arts Collaborative Set to Host Holiday Makers Market This Weekend

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Albany Park ·

Albany Park residents will have an exciting opportunity to support local artisans and enjoy cultural performances this weekend as the newly renovated Workshop Arts Collaborative hosts its inaugural Holiday Makers Market at 3741 W. Lawrence Avenue. The event marks the first major community celebration in the space since receiving a

.2 million city grant earlier this year and undergoing extensive renovations.

Visitors can explore a diverse collection of handcrafted gifts from neighborhood artists displayed throughout the venue's flexible 2,200-square-foot event space on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The transformed century-old building now features 12-14 soundproof rehearsal spaces and a street-facing storefront with dedicated pop-up space that will showcase rotating vendors selling everything from vintage instruments to handmade arts and crafts. Local musicians will perform throughout the weekend, highlighting the collaborative's mission to serve as a creative hub for the community.

"This holiday market represents exactly what we envisioned for the Workshop Arts Collaborative—a vibrant gathering place that celebrates the incredible diversity and creativity of Albany Park," said James Yelen, the developer who spearheaded the $2.4 million renovation project. Residents interested in attending can find more information on the Albany Park Chamber of Commerce website, with free admission for all community members.
