Albany Park to Host Vibrant Neighborhood Taste of Chicago Festival in August 2025
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Albany Park ·
Albany Park residents can look forward to a culinary celebration this summer as the neighborhood has been selected to host a special Taste of Chicago event on Saturday, August 9, 2025. The festival will transform Kimball Avenue between Lawrence and Leland into a vibrant community gathering featuring local food vendors, family activities, and cultural performances.
According to the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), the Albany Park Taste celebration will showcase the neighborhood's remarkable diversity through a global soundtrack featuring performances by Los Gaiteros de Pueblo Santo, Chicago Immigrant Orchestra, Surabhi Ensemble, and FUGU DUGU. The event will also include Chicago SummerDance sessions offering instruction in cumbia, Bollywood, and Mexican folk dance styles. "Whether you're dancing in Albany Park or enjoying a sweet treat, Taste of Chicago is where Chicagoans come together to experience the flavor of our city," said DCASE Commissioner Clinée Hedspeth.
The Albany Park festival is one of three neighborhood Taste celebrations happening across Chicago this summer, with others taking place in Marquette Park (June 28) and Pullman Park (July 19) before the main Grant Park event on September 5-7. Community members can enjoy this free, family-friendly celebration from noon to 8 p.m., experiencing the culinary diversity that makes Albany Park one of Chicago's most culturally rich neighborhoods.
