By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/West Englewood ·
The West Englewood Community Center has kicked off an exciting new youth arts program for neighborhood children this January. The community-driven organization, which provides support and solutions to issues facing West Englewood residents, has expanded its offerings to include a comprehensive performing arts initiative focused on sound engineering, production design, lighting, stage management, event budgeting and marketing.
The program is part of broader efforts by We Grow Chicago (WGC), a trusted community-based coalition creating safe spaces where West Englewood residents can thrive. Led by Imagine Englewood If, in partnership with Growing Home, Grow Greater Englewood, Teamwork Englewood, and Metropolitan Family Services, WGC empowers local families by providing resources for immediate basic needs, family social services, and skill-building programs that foster community connection. The winter arts initiative builds upon successful community programming that has become a hallmark of West Englewood's revitalization efforts.
Residents interested in enrolling their children or volunteering can visit the West Englewood Community Center directly or contact We Grow Chicago through their website. The center encourages community participation as they continue to expand creative opportunities for neighborhood youth throughout 2026.
