By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Humboldt Park ·

Wright College Humboldt Park Vocational Center is offering an exciting new opportunity for community members with its Renewable Energy Industry Photovoltaic System Fundamentals program for Fall 2024. The 30-hour noncredit course is being offered in partnership with the Illinois IBEW Renewable Energy Fund, providing valuable skills training in a rapidly growing industry.

Participants will gain essential skills to prepare them for careers in renewable energy, including safety practices, electrical basics, and solar energy principles. Program completers will be eligible to obtain a North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) credential, opening doors to careers as solar photovoltaic panel installers, solar sales consultants, or adding valuable green energy expertise to existing construction skills.

Located at 1645 North California Avenue in Chicago's vibrant Humboldt Park neighborhood, the Vocational Education Center has been serving the Humboldt Park/West Town community since 1995, providing residents with occupational skills training in areas with high employment potential. Interested community members can visit the center or call (773)481-8300 to learn more about enrollment opportunities and other vocational programs available this fall.
