Chicago's First Floating Sauna Brings Nordic Wellness Experience to Streeterville's Navy Pier

A unique winter wellness experience has docked at Streeterville's Navy Pier Marina, giving residents a new way to embrace Chicago's cold months. Kiln Floating Sauna, Chicago's first floating sauna, offers visitors the chance to experience traditional Nordic wellness practices with stunning skyline views.

Founded by Chicago entrepreneur Zoe Lake, Kiln provides guided thermic cycles that alternate between heat, cold, and rest beneath the iconic Navy Pier Ferris wheel. The custom-built floating sauna brings Nordic tradition to one of the city's most historic destinations. "Navy Pier is deeply woven into Chicago's history, and being able to launch my business here feels very special," said Lake. "Kiln was built to slow people down, help them reconnect with their bodies, and experience winter and the lake in a completely new way."

The woman-owned, locally operated wellness destination is expected to remain at Navy Pier Marina through early May 2026 before heading to Wisconsin for the summer season. Visitors can book various experiences ranging from 45-minute "public social sessions" starting at $50 to private group sessions. Streeterville residents looking to try this novel wellness experience can make reservations online, with gift cards also available for those seeking a unique present for friends and family.
