Albany Park's diverse culinary scene has welcomed an exciting new addition with the opening of Zaab E Lee at 3021 W. Lawrence Avenue. Owner Wantana "Jennie" Jantakhet opened the restaurant in August to offer authentic street food typically found while walking through Isan, Thailand's largest region.

The menu features customer favorites like larb moo krob, a crispy pork belly salad served with shallot, scallion, cilantro, rice powder, mint and a spicy lime dressing. Another popular dish is pra sam rod, a deep-fried fish coated in a sweet, sour and spicy "three-flavored" sauce. The restaurant's decor also captures the street food atmosphere with authentic items from Thailand. "This style, we have everything from my country we've put up in here. It's history and things from movies," Jantakhet explained.

Residents looking to experience these authentic Thai flavors can visit Zaab E Lee seven days a week from 12 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The restaurant adds to Albany Park's reputation as one of Chicago's most culturally diverse culinary destinations, offering neighbors another opportunity to explore global cuisines without leaving the community.
