Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago Unveils Free Family Day and Yoko Ono Exhibition for Streeterville Residents

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Streeterville ·

Streeterville's cultural landscape starts 2026 with exciting opportunities for residents as the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (MCA) hosts its first Free Family Day of the year on January 10. The day-long celebration offers complimentary admission, hands-on activities, and live music for families throughout the neighborhood.

The event is part of the museum's ongoing commitment to community engagement, which includes free admission for Illinois residents every Tuesday evening from 5-9 PM throughout the year. Streeterville residents can also explore the comprehensive overview of Yoko Ono's work, "Music Of The Mind," which continues through February 22. The exhibition has drawn visitors from across Chicago to the neighborhood since its opening. Looking ahead, the MCA will debut "Dancing the Revolution" on April 14, a first-of-its-kind exhibition exploring the visual, political and spiritual histories of dancehall and reggaetón through contemporary art.

Residents interested in experiencing these cultural offerings can find the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago at 220 E Chicago Ave. The museum encourages neighbors to take advantage of these accessible arts opportunities right in the heart of Streeterville, strengthening community bonds through shared cultural experiences.
