EP Fresh Market to Open in February: Six Corners Development Momentum Continues

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Portage Park ·

Exciting news for Northwest Side residents as the EP Fresh Market is scheduled to open in early February, with a soft opening in the first week followed by a grand opening shortly after. The full-service grocery store will feature a coffee bar, taqueria, bakery, and prepared meals, offering Portage Park residents a new dining and shopping destination just a short trip away.

The opening comes amid continuing development momentum in the Six Corners area, where Portage Park Chamber of Commerce board chairperson George Borovik notes that business development has a positive impact on the entire community. The Peoples Gas site has been called "the last piece of the puzzle" as plans for other large redevelopment sites at Six Corners have been completed. Construction on additional developments is expected to begin later this year, with completion projected for late 2026. These new additions to the Six Corners neighborhood represent another step forward in revitalizing the area, creating jobs, and enhancing the local lifestyle.

Community members interested in winter activities can also take advantage of the Chicago Park District's winter programs at Portage Park, running from January 5 through March 15, 2026. Online registration began December 8, 2025, with in-person registration starting December 13, 2025. Programs include a wide variety of activities for all ages throughout the week. Residents are encouraged to attend the next Portage Park Advisory Council meeting to learn more about these developments and upcoming community events.
