Garfield Ridge Farmers Market Announces Early Opening for 2026 Season

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Garfield Ridge ·

The Garfield Ridge Farmers Market will kick off its 2026 season earlier than ever before, with a grand opening scheduled for late April, the Midway Chamber of Commerce announced this week. The popular community market, which traditionally runs from June through September, is extending its season by six weeks due to growing vendor interest and resident participation.

The market, coordinated by the Midway Chamber of Commerce, has become a cornerstone event for the Garfield Ridge community, bringing fresh produce and local crafts to residents along Archer Avenue, the economic lifeline of the neighborhood. The Chamber, which serves multiple Southwest Side communities including Garfield Ridge, continues its mission "to strengthen the small business community, promote professional standards, and provide networking and community outreach resources."

Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to mark their calendars for the extended market season, which will feature an expanded roster of vendors, including several new food artisans from the Southwest Side. The Chamber is currently accepting applications from local businesses interested in participating, with special consideration given to Garfield Ridge entrepreneurs. For more information about vendor opportunities or the upcoming market season, visit the Midway Chamber of Commerce website.
