Intonation Music Celebrates 20th Anniversary with New Bronzeville Home Opening in March

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Bronzeville ·

This year marks a watershed moment for Intonation Music as the Chicago-based nonprofit celebrates its 20th anniversary while establishing its new home in Bronzeville. The organization is moving into an inviting 3,000-square-foot space in the historic neighborhood, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for Saturday, March 7.

Located at 3633 S. State Street, the new facility is undergoing a

20,000 custom buildout that will feature a state-of-the-art recording and production studio, a professional performance and rehearsal space with full sound and lighting equipment, a student and family lounge, and office spaces. The site was strategically selected because of Intonation's deep ties to the Bronzeville community and its proximity to partner organizations. Intonation's curriculum focuses on empowering students to create music that resonates with them personally, helping them develop as artists while building valuable life skills.

Students who participate in Intonation's programming have shown remarkable progress, with some learning to play songs like "Sweet Home Chicago" as a full band after just three hours of practice. The organization's approach fosters collaboration, creativity, and connection among students. Bronzeville residents interested in learning more about Intonation Music's programs or attending the March ribbon-cutting celebration can visit intonationmusic.org for details on upcoming events and enrollment opportunities.
