Taste of Chicago Albany Park Returns This Summer with Local Flavors and Cultural Performances

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Albany Park ·

Albany Park residents can mark their calendars for a delicious neighborhood celebration as the Taste of Chicago Albany Park edition returns to Kimball Avenue on Saturday, August 9, from noon to 8 p.m. The popular food festival will transform the street between Lawrence and Leland into a vibrant showcase of the neighborhood's remarkable cultural diversity.

This year's event will feature more than a dozen local food vendors and trucks offering everything from Senegalese cuisine and Pakistani street food to gourmet cookies, tacos, and cupcakes. The main stage, hosted by comedian Sonal Aggarwal, will present a mix of live music, DJs, and cultural performances reflecting Albany Park's vibrant diversity. Longtime festival staples like Robinson's No. 1 Ribs will return, alongside several new restaurants making their festival debut. Unlike downtown Taste events, attendees won't need food tickets—just bring cash or credit cards.

The event celebrates Albany Park's status as one of Chicago's most ethnically diverse neighborhoods, often called the "Gateway to the World." Residents interested in volunteering or learning more about the event can contact the Albany Park Chamber of Commerce, which organizes the festival in partnership with the North River Commission. Don't miss this opportunity to experience the neighborhood's incredible culinary offerings while connecting with neighbors and celebrating our community's rich cultural heritage.
