Northwestern Medicine Bronzeville Outpatient Center Launches February Community Health Series

The Northwestern Medicine Bronzeville Outpatient Center is kicking off a new monthly community health initiative this February, offering residents free wellness workshops and health screenings at its state-of-the-art facility on Cottage Grove Avenue.
The center's 7,500-square-foot dedicated community space, which includes a teaching kitchen and fitness room, will host weekly nutrition classes, exercise sessions, and preventive health seminars throughout the month. These programs, developed based on extensive community feedback, address specific health concerns prevalent in the neighborhood. "This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to Bronzeville. It shows growth in the community, with the community changing for the better," explains Tanika Sykes, Director of Operations. Notably, many of the 130 staff members are Bronzeville residents themselves, with decisions about programming made with community needs as the priority.
Residents interested in participating can register for the February events through the Northwestern Medicine website or by calling the outpatient center directly. Walk-in appointments are also available at the immediate care facility, and general appointments can be made through Northwestern's website. The center continues to fulfill its promise of bringing comprehensive healthcare services closer to home for Bronzeville residents while actively engaging the community in preventive health measures.
