South Side Sanctuary Launches Winter Wellness Series for Bronzeville Residents This February

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Bronzeville ·

The South Side Sanctuary is bringing warmth to winter in Bronzeville with the launch of their new February Wellness Series. The 13,000-square-foot outdoor community plaza at 47th Street and Martin Luther King Drive is transforming its space for cold-weather programming focused on community wellness and entrepreneurship.

The series will feature weekly outdoor yoga sessions, entrepreneurship workshops, and creative arts programming, all organized by local Bronzeville residents and businesses. With flexible performance spaces and covered areas designed for year-round use, the Sanctuary continues its mission to serve as a hub for integrative wellness, entrepreneurship, arts, and recreation in the community. Visitors can participate in an outdoor yoga class one day and attend a skill-building workshop the next.

Founded by Cecilia Cuff, co-owner of Bronzeville Winery, and Jasmine Michaels, CEO of Chicago-based Oases, the South Side Sanctuary has quickly become a vital community asset since its development. "For me to come back and see an empty city lot transformed into this vibrant community space is incredible. This winter series is about continuing to build community pride and providing resources for our neighbors even in the colder months," said Cuff. Residents interested in participating can find the full calendar of February events on the South Side Sanctuary website or by stopping by their information booth during weekend hours.
