Former NU Basketball Star to Open Wrigleyville's First Women-Focused Sports Bar This Spring

Wrigleyville is set to welcome a groundbreaking addition to its vibrant entertainment scene this spring as Level Sporting Club prepares to open at 3343 N. Clark Street. Led by founder and CEO Clarissa Flores, a former Northwestern University basketball player with deep Chicago hospitality roots, this innovative sports bar will flip the traditional script by putting women's sports front and center. "Women's sports will be the default," Flores explains of the concept.
Taking over the former Lowcountry seafood boil space just a block and a half from Wrigley Field, Level Sporting Club is slated to open in late April after renovations. While the bar's prime location acknowledges its baseball-centric neighborhood, Flores is clear about the establishment's priorities: "We're a block and a half from Wrigley Field; we are not going to exclude certain sports. But women's sports will always be at the forefront and the priority. They will always take center stage over everything else." The ownership team was assembled intentionally, featuring an impressive roster including Jennifer King, the first Black woman to hold a full-time NFL assistant coaching position; Ashleen Bracey, head coach of UIC's women's basketball team; retired professional basketball player Janae Smith; and several former collegiate athletes now working in finance, real estate, and business leadership.
Wrigleyville residents and visitors interested in supporting this pioneering venture can follow Level Sporting Club on social media for updates on their spring opening and special events. The bar represents an exciting evolution in Chicago's sports culture and promises to create a welcoming space where everyone can celebrate women's athletics in the heart of one of the city's most iconic sports neighborhoods.
