City Council Gives Green Light to New Three-Story Residential Building at Irving Park Road and Richmond Street
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Irving Park ·
Irving Park's housing landscape is about to get a fresh addition. The Chicago City Council has officially approved a new residential development at 2934 W. Irving Park Road, giving developer CorEtt Builders Corp the go-ahead to move forward with permitting and construction at the northwest corner of Irving Park Road and North Richmond Street.
Designed by MC & Associates LLC, the new building will rise three stories — approximately 35 feet tall — and feature three spacious three-bedroom rental units, offering family-sized housing options that are increasingly sought after in the neighborhood. Residents will also have access to three parking spaces and six dedicated bike parking spots, a nod to Irving Park's growing cycling culture. The project will replace an existing two-story structure on the site, and the developer received approval for a rezoning from B3-1 to B2-3 to accommodate the scope of the build.
The approval is the latest sign of steady residential investment along the Irving Park corridor, as developers continue to bet on the neighborhood's momentum and desirability on Chicago's Northwest Side. With City Council approval now secured, neighbors can expect to see construction activity at the Richmond Street corner in the coming months. Keep an eye on this stretch of Irving Park Road — and follow your local alderman's office for updates on the project's construction timeline.
