Ravenswood's Malt Row Plans Cubs Opening Day Bash, While North Side Restaurant Week Spotlights a Spirited New Pub

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Ravenswood ·

Spring is coming to Ravenswood — and the neighborhood is celebrating in true Chicago fashion. Malt Row breweries are joining forces for a lively Cubs Opening Day Party at Gman Tavern on March 26th, giving craft beer lovers and baseball fans a reason to mark their calendars now. The collaborative event brings together some of Ravenswood's best-loved breweries for a neighborhood send-off into the season, cementing Malt Row's reputation as one of the most spirited craft brewing communities in the city.

Meanwhile, there's no need to wait until March to toast the neighborhood. North Side Restaurant Week is officially underway through March 8th, with more than 60 restaurants across seven North Side neighborhoods — including Ravenswood — rolling out special fixed-price menus. One of the buzziest Ravenswood debuts this year belongs to Piccadilly Pub at 4749 N. Rockwell St., which took over the former Green Post space late last year and is making its Restaurant Week debut with a UK-inspired three-course menu ($45) highlighting fish and chips, smoked trout dip, curry boat chips, and a chicken sando. No tickets required — diners can simply walk in and explore.

With a Cubs party on the horizon and a brand-new neighborhood pub to discover this week, Ravenswood is serving up plenty of reasons to get out and explore. Head to ravenswoodchicago.org for the full list of participating Restaurant Week spots and details on the Malt Row Cubs bash.
