Pilsen's Own The Geraghty Goes Big: Beloved Event Venue Expanding to Second Location

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Pilsen ·

Pilsen has long been a launchpad for bold ideas — and The Geraghty is proving that in a big way. The acclaimed event venue, which has anchored the Pilsen neighborhood since 2015, is expanding beyond the South Side with a brand-new second location dubbed "Geraghty North" in Glenview. Owner Tom Kehoe, president of Kehoe Designs, is proposing to transform a vacant 106,167-square-foot office building at 2100 Sanders Road into a stunning two-story, 45,000-square-foot event space — with floor-to-ceiling windows, flexible layouts, and a capacity of up to 600 guests.

Kehoe cites years of demand from a "strong clientele" in the northern suburbs as the driving force behind the expansion. The new venue is designed to host both social and corporate events, and if all goes according to plan, Geraghty North could open as early as spring 2027. The name "Geraghty" itself carries deep personal meaning — it's the maiden name of Kehoe's mother, whom he credits with teaching him the fundamentals of hospitality.

For Pilsen, the expansion is a point of neighborhood pride: the original Geraghty's reputation has grown so strong that it's now inspiring a suburban counterpart. Whether you're planning a wedding, a corporate gala, or a milestone celebration, The Geraghty on West 14th Street remains one of Chicago's most distinctive event destinations — rooted right here in Pilsen. Keep an eye on The Geraghty's social channels for upcoming event programming and booking opportunities.
