Synths, Switches & Something for Everyone: McKinley Park's March Community Calendar Is Buzzing
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Mckinley Park ·
McKinley Park's vibrant local scene keeps the energy high this month, with two community events giving neighbors even more reasons to get out and connect.
First up for music lovers and gear enthusiasts: the 3rd Annual Chicago Synth Flea Market rolls into the neighborhood this Sunday, March 15. From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Marz Community Brewing Co., 3630 S. Iron St., the event invites attendees to buy, sell, trade, jam, and geek out over synthesizers and electronic music gear in one of McKinley Park's most beloved local gathering spots. Now in its third year, the free-to-browse market has become a signature event for the neighborhood's creative and music communities — proof that McKinley Park's cultural scene goes well beyond the walls of traditional venues.
And later in the month, the McKinley Park branch of the Chicago Public Library, 1915 W. 35th St., is rolling out the Nintendo Switch for Gamer's Choice on Wednesday, March 25, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tweens and teens ages 12 to 16 are invited to face off on games like Mario with fellow neighbors in a fun, free afternoon at the library. It's a great way for young residents to build friendships and enjoy their community space.
From analog synths to digital battles, McKinley Park's calendar has something for every generation this March. Head to mckinleypark.news for full event details and to stay in the loop on everything happening in the neighborhood.
