Sweet Things Are Coming: Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Eyes Southport Corridor — Plus Family Fun on the Spring Calendar
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Lake View ·
Lake View's Southport Corridor is about to get a whole lot sweeter. Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, the beloved Colorado-based confectionery chain, is zeroing in on a new location along the neighborhood's charming retail strip — and locals have franchisee Tyson Minnick to thank for making it happen. Minnick, who also owns the brand's Loop location at 3 N. State Street, told What Now Chicago that once a lease is signed, the new Southport shop should be up and running within six to eight months. Neighbors can look forward to the brand's signature chocolate sweets, caramel apples, fudge, and hot chocolate — a perfect fit for the cozy, boutique energy of the Southport Corridor near the Brown Line.
Meanwhile, the Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce is loading up the spring calendar with two can't-miss family events. First up: the Lakeview Easter Celebration on Saturday, April 4, at Lincoln & Wellington — featuring a free Easter Bunny photo opportunity, giveaways, and Easter activities perfect for little ones. Then on April 18, the neighborhood goes green with the return of the Lakeview Earth Day Celebration, a tech recycling and donation drive held in the Blaine Elementary parking lot.
From sweet new storefronts to festive community gatherings, Lake View's spring momentum is undeniable. Mark those dates, bring the family, and keep an eye on the Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber's website for full event details — your neighborhood is ready to celebrate the season.
