Spice, Sips & New Storefronts: Lake View's Clark Street Corridor Is Heating Up This Spring

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Lake View ·

Lake View's already-sizzling dining and bar scene is about to get even hotter — literally. Hot Chi, the Chicago-born chicken sandwich sensation known for its "Chicago-style hot chicken," has opened a brand-new Lakeview location, following earlier outposts in Chatham and two food halls. The local franchise has built a devoted following with a full lineup of wings and boldly named sandwiches, offering spice levels that range from mild all the way up to the advisory "Call Ya Mama." It's a loud, fun, deeply Chicago addition to the neighborhood's growing Broadway and Clark Street dining corridors.

And the excitement doesn't stop there. Apothecary, a cocktail bar with a compelling origin story, is set to open this May at 3242 N. Clark St. in Lakeview. Owner Eric Reid — a pharmacist by training — is channeling his background into a menu of complex, inventive cocktails, alongside food from chef Jacquelyn Lord featuring dishes like fried mushrooms and duck confit flatbread. It promises to be one of the North Side's most distinctive new bar experiences of 2026.

Rounding out the neighborhood's spring arrivals, Luckycat Café — an AAPI- and woman-owned Asian-inspired café from owners Stephanie Bian and Jake Lee — has already opened its first permanent brick-and-mortar on Lakeview's Clark Street, after building a devoted following through pop-ups. From fiery chicken to craft cocktails to artisan café culture, Lake View's spring lineup is stacked. Get out there and show these new neighbors some love!
