South Loop's Biggest Easter Egg Hunt Returns Today — 20,000 Eggs, Free Sox Tickets, and a Neighborhood in Full Spring Mode
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/South Loop ·
Spring has officially sprung in the South Loop, and the neighborhood is celebrating in the most egg-cellent way possible. The Prairie District Neighborhood Alliance (PDNA) — one of Chicago's largest community organizations — is hosting its 19th Annual Easter Egg Hunt today, Saturday, April 4th, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Chicago's Women's Park and Gardens, located at 1801 S. Indiana Avenue. This beloved neighborhood tradition returns bigger than ever, with 20,000 brightly colored, toy- and candy-filled plastic eggs hidden and ready for young hunters to find.
This year's event comes loaded with extras that make it a true community celebration. The PDNA has teamed up with Chicago Rec Sports, which will be giving away hundreds of toys, and the Chicago White Sox, who are handing out 500 free game tickets to participants — a sweet bonus for South Loop families looking to soak up some early baseball season fun. The egg hunt is geared toward children ages 12 and under, and little ones are encouraged to bring their own Easter baskets and come with a grown-up in tow.
Tickets are required and space is limited, so if you haven't grabbed yours yet, head to southloopeasteregghunt.com or call (312) 401-2688. Whether it's your first time or your family's annual tradition, this is the kind of community-rooted, joy-filled event that makes Prairie District and the broader South Loop such a wonderful place to call home. Will your family be out hunting eggs today? Share your photos with the Socialhood community!
