Dough, Dolce & a New Era: Labriola Italian Specialties Is Coming to Fulton Market This April

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Near West Side ·

Near West Side residents, mark your calendars — one of Chicago's most beloved baking dynasties is planting its flag right in the heart of Fulton Market. Doughboy Restaurant Group, led by Chicago artisan baker and restaurateur Rich Labriola, has announced that Labriola Italian Specialties will open its doors at 852 W. Fulton Market on April 22, 2026. It's the latest evolution of a culinary empire that traces its roots to a south suburban pizza shop — and it's coming straight to your neighborhood.

The new concept promises to be a feast for the senses at every hour. Guests can look forward to fresh-baked bread, house-made pastas, and Labriola's signature Sicilian cannoli crafted with authentic Italian sheep milk ricotta — plus late-night artisan pizza slices and spumoni served right from a walk-up window. A thoughtfully curated craft cocktail and wine menu rounds out the experience. The space itself was designed by Heidi Lightner Architects to capture what the team calls the "dual personality of Fulton Market — playful by day and moody, energetic, and vibrant at night," with flexible seating, layered textures, and bold lighting that transitions seamlessly from a weekday lunch crowd to a buzzing late-night scene. Hours will run Sunday–Thursday 4–11 p.m. and Friday–Saturday 4 p.m. to midnight.

This is yet another sign that Fulton Market's dining scene continues to attract world-class talent — and that Near West Side remains one of the most exciting places to eat and live in all of Chicago. Follow Labriola Italian Specialties at @labriolaitalian on Instagram and on Facebook for sneak peeks and opening day updates — and start planning your April 22nd dinner reservation now!
