Mark Your Calendars: Bucktown Arts Fest and the Neighborhood 5K Are Both Back — and Registration Is Open
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Bucktown ·
Bucktown's community calendar is already filling up with two signature events that define the neighborhood's spirit every year — and now's the time to get in on both.
First, the beloved Bucktown Arts Fest has officially announced its 2026 dates: August 29–30 at Holstein Park, running 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days and completely free to attend. The all-volunteer-run festival brings together 160 artists alongside two live music stages, craft beer, food trucks, and hands-on fun for all ages. Best of all, every dollar raised goes directly toward arts education programming at Holstein Park and in local classrooms — making it one of the most community-minded events on the entire North Side. Consider this your early heads-up to block off that late-summer weekend.
And for the runners in the neighborhood, the 27th annual Bucktown 5K and Kids Run is set for October 4, 2026 — and registration is open now. The flat, family-friendly course winds past some of the neighborhood's most stunning historic homes and buildings, finishing with a post-race party complete with live music and fresh donuts. A Bucktown Kids Dash rounds out the day for the youngest neighbors. This year's runner kit even pays homage to the neighborhood's quirky namesake history.
Two iconic Bucktown traditions, two chances to celebrate community. Head to bucktownartsfest.com and bucktown5k.com to learn more — and spread the word to your neighbors!
