Sweet Reunion in The Loop: How 'Truffles' the Teddy Bear Found His Way Home

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/The Loop ·

The Loop got its own feel-good story this week — and it stars a chocolate shop, a beloved stuffed bear, and one very swift happy ending. On the evening of April 4th, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory at 1 N. State Street found itself at the center of a dramatic caper when a group of teenagers grabbed the shop's cherished mascot, a teddy bear named Truffles, right out of the front window and bolted.

But this story ends with smiles, not heartbreak. Chicago Police Department officers tracked the group to the CTA Red Line and recovered Truffles within the hour — with a helicopter even joining the search effort. The bear was back safe and sound before the night was over. Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory wasted no time sharing the news on social media, thanking CPD for responding quickly and treating the situation with genuine urgency. "Truffles was bearnapped last night! Thankfully, this story has a very happy ending," the shop wrote in their post — and the Loop community couldn't agree more.

It's a lighthearted reminder that The Loop is more than office towers and transit hubs — it's a neighborhood full of beloved local businesses with real personalities (and apparently, very dedicated mascots). Stop by Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory at 1 N. State Street and show Truffles some love.
