Vienna Beef Plaza and Fringe Salon Are Putting Bucktown on the Map in 2026 — Here's What's Coming
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Bucktown ·
Bucktown is in the middle of a serious glow-up, and two long-anticipated arrivals are giving neighbors even more reason to love the neighborhood this spring and summer.
First, the news hot dog fans have been waiting years to hear: Vienna Beef Plaza at 2501 N. Damen Ave. is on track to open its long-awaited café and factory store by mid-2026. The Bucktown landmark — home to Vienna Beef's corporate offices and a Binny's liquor store that's already open — will soon add a full restaurant serving Chicago classics like Italian beef, corned beef sandwiches, soups, and of course, the iconic Chicago-style hot dog. Even better, the café plans to offer local brews on tap, indoor and outdoor seating, an event space for private parties, and unique hands-on experiences — think building your own Chicago dog with guidance from a Vienna Beef pro. A selection of historical artifacts will give the space a true sense of the brand's deep Chicago roots.
And over on Cortland Avenue, award-winning Fringe Salon has officially planted its flag in Bucktown, relocating to the charming 1600 block of Cortland and bringing more than two decades of expertise — and accolades like "Best Salon in Chicago" from Allure Magazine — to a fresh new address in the neighborhood.
Between a legendary Chicago food institution and a beloved beauty destination landing in the same season, Bucktown's spring is shaping up to be one for the books. Keep an eye on both for opening announcements — and spread the word to your neighbors!
