Pilsen Arts & Community House Expands with New 'PACH 21' Satellite Space Inside Giron Books

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Pilsen ·

Pilsen's beloved arts nonprofit is growing — and it just got a brand-new home on 21st Street. The Pilsen Arts & Community House (PACH) has launched "PACH 21," a satellite location tucked inside the iconic Giron Books at 2141 W. 21st Street. The new space is dedicated to hosting special projects and events, while the organization's main hub continues to anchor 18th Street. PACH leaders say the expansion reflects the organization's growth and its need for more room to accommodate an evolving lineup of programming.

And that programming is seriously expanding. PACH is rolling out beginner-friendly music classes — including ukulele, singing, songwriting, and kalimba — alongside printmaking, mixed media, mosaic, embroidery, and new writing workshops designed to help neighbors find their voice through storytelling and performance. The dual-location model is part of a longer-term vision: PACH's ultimate goal is to one day establish a permanent "forever home" that brings all of its work under one roof.

For a neighborhood that has long championed the arts as a pillar of its identity, PACH's expansion is a welcome reminder that Pilsen's creative spirit keeps finding new places to grow. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a total beginner, there's a class or event waiting for you. Head to pilsenartscommunityhouse.org to explore the full calendar and get involved — your next creative adventure might be right around the corner.
