Ravenswood Is Raising a Can & Opening a New Door: KOVAL Goes Ready-to-Drink & Paper Bunny Press Lands Its First Storefront
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Ravenswood ·
Ravenswood's entrepreneurial spirit is bubbling over this spring — and we mean that literally. KOVAL Distillery, the neighborhood's beloved grain-to-bottle pioneer, just cracked open an exciting new chapter by launching its first-ever line of ready-to-drink canned cocktails. The debut lineup includes sparkling canned classics, giving neighbors a brand-new way to enjoy KOVAL's locally crafted spirits — no shaker required. It's a bold and refreshing move from one of Ravenswood's most iconic makers, and early buzz suggests the neighborhood is ready to toast to it.
Meanwhile, over on Damen Avenue, a different kind of local dream just came true. Paper Bunny Press — the beloved stationery brand known for its "surprisingly snarky" greeting cards and playful goods — has officially opened its first brick-and-mortar shop at 4956 N. Damen Ave., just steps from Winnemac Park. Owner Samantha Rekas spent nearly four years winning fans at pop-up markets across the city before finally landing a permanent home in Ravenswood. The cozy storefront is stocked with greeting cards, stickers, notepads, planners, magnets, and more — all designed or curated by Rekas herself — with nothing priced over $50. She also has plans to host creative workshops on junk journaling, candle making, and bookbinding down the road.
Two new reasons to get out and explore the neighborhood this week. Stop by Paper Bunny Press on Damen and raise a KOVAL canned cocktail to Ravenswood's unstoppable local business scene!
