West Loop neighbors, big things are happening on multiple fronts this week — and the common thread is a neighborhood doubling down on its future.

First, a meaningful win for community health: Saint Anthony Hospital has officially opened a brand-new clinic right here in the West Loop at 1371 W. Randolph Street, as of April 21. Since 1897, Saint Anthony has been an independent, non-profit hospital committed to delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare for all — with a special focus on the unique challenges of underserved communities. The hospital also provides free bilingual health education, community outreach, and multiple outpatient and rehabilitation services across the region. This new Randolph Street location puts those vital resources even closer to West Loop residents.

Meanwhile, the long-vacant lot near beloved Mary Bartelme Park is finally getting a fresh chapter. A revised development proposal would create a 70-unit condo tower plus four public restrooms and park storage for the site. The developer expressed deep gratitude for Alderman Conway's support, noting that the team hopes "these new neighborhood amenities improve residents' daily lives" — with Conway himself calling the park the "Crown Jewel of the West Loop."
