Hyde Park neighbors, there's a lot to feel good about heading into this Tuesday — from a rooftop solar milestone to student success to a week packed with world-class music at the Logan Center.

First, a big sustainability win: a Hyde Park church has completed a long-awaited rooftop solar project expected to meet most of its electricity needs, after years of delays tied to disputed city fees. It's a meaningful step forward for the neighborhood's green future — and proof that Hyde Park's commitment to sustainability runs deep. Meanwhile, closer to campus, the Friends of Kenwood Academy — a mostly parent-led nonprofit — awarded more than $20,000 in microgrants this spring to student clubs, sports teams, and academic programs at Kenwood Academy High School, filling critical gaps not covered by the district. That's real community investment in Hyde Park's next generation.
