West Town's Art Scene and Wellness Culture Take Center Stage This Spring
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/West Town ·
It's been a standout spring for West Town on two very different fronts — and neighbors have plenty of reasons to celebrate.
First, the neighborhood's thriving gallery community just earned a major citywide spotlight. Document, the acclaimed West Town gallery, was among the featured exhibitors at EXPO Chicago 2026 at Navy Pier earlier this month, showcasing works from both local and international artists. The gallery's booth highlighted pieces ranging from a dye sublimation print by French-Caribbean artist Julien Creuzet to an archival pigment print by University of Chicago professor Laura Letinsky — a powerful reminder that West Town is home to some of Chicago's most vital contemporary art spaces. West Town's First Fridays gallery walks continue to keep that momentum rolling every month, with the Chicago Artists Coalition and other Milwaukee Avenue staples drawing art lovers deep into the neighborhood.
Closer to home, West Town also just wrapped its annual Wellness Week, which ran April 20–26. Organized by the West Town Chamber of Commerce, the week-long celebration offered exclusive deals from the neighborhood's top wellness businesses alongside a packed lineup of community events — a feel-good tradition that keeps getting bigger each year.
Whether you're an art enthusiast or a wellness devotee, West Town keeps proving it has something for everyone. Follow the West Town Chamber of Commerce and Document gallery on social media to stay plugged into what's coming next!
