From Office Cubicles to City Sanctuaries: River North's 111 Point Is About to Welcome Its First Residents
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Near North ·
Near North neighbors, a major milestone is just weeks away — and it signals a bold new chapter for River North's skyline. The long-awaited 111 Point, a $64.5 million office-to-residential conversion at 111 W. Illinois St., is set to welcome its very first residents on May 22, with full completion of the property expected by July 1. The project, led by Chicago-area firms Path Construction and WindWave Real Estate, has transformed the former Salesforce and WeWork headquarters into 153 sleek luxury apartments — and it's the first major conversion project of its kind to reach the leasing stage in River North.
What makes 111 Point stand out isn't just the address — it's the lifestyle. The building is loaded with wellness-forward amenities, including a Peloton cardio and weight studio, a yoga studio, and an all-season rooftop wellness terrace with a sauna and hot tub. Work-from-home residents will love the coworking lounge, complete with private rooms, open seating, and even a podcasting studio — reimagined from the building's former WeWork offices. And the ground-floor retail anchor stays put: both Roka Akor and Tarry Coffee will continue operating, so neighbors can pop in without missing a beat.
"You can live in the heart of Chicago, but you're in a sanctuary," said Jack Tse, Path Construction's director of development. It's a fitting vision for a building transforming underused office space into vibrant downtown homes. Are you excited to see River North's residential scene grow?
