Pups, Pitas & a New Pub: Lincoln Park Is Having a Moment This Week
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Lincoln Park ·
Lincoln Park is bursting with heartwarming and delicious news this Tuesday — and there's plenty of reason to get out and explore the neighborhood.
First, the feel-good story of the week: PAWS Chicago has welcomed 25 rescued beagles as part of a massive nationwide rescue operation that saved more than 1,000 dogs from Ridglan Farms, a research breeding facility in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin. Once the pups are health-checked and ready, they'll head to the PAWS Chicago Lincoln Park adoption center at 1997 N. Clybourn Ave. to find their forever families. If you've been thinking about adding a four-legged friend to your home, now is the perfect time to stop in and meet one of these sweet new arrivals.
On the dining front, Lincoln Park has a fresh new sit-down destination: Noema, a Greek restaurant now open in the neighborhood, is turning heads with a menu featuring mezze spreads like melitzanosalata and tirokafteri, grilled lamb chops, moussaka, and crispy lavraki with risotto. It's a welcome addition to the neighborhood's already thriving food scene. And looking ahead to summer, a brand-new neighborhood pub called Gunny's is under construction at 2642 N. Lincoln Avenue. The passion project of local hospitality veteran Martin O'Connor, the two-room concept promises a traditional tavern up front, a restaurant and lounge in back, and "upscale casual fare" at approachable prices — with a summer opening on the horizon.
Whether you're adopting a beagle, discovering your new favorite Greek dish, or counting down the days to Gunny's first pour, Lincoln Park is delivering the goods this spring. Keep your eyes on 2642 N. Lincoln Ave. and follow @gunnyspub on Instagram for opening updates!
