R.A.G.E. Is Bringing the Community Together May 19 — and a Scholarship Could Change a Young Neighbor's Life

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/West Englewood ·

West Englewood's most energized civic force is calling neighbors together again — and this time, the stakes are especially high for the neighborhood's youth. The Resident Association of Greater Englewood (R.A.G.E.) has a community gathering on the calendar for Monday, May 19, running from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Johnson College Prep. Whether you're a longtime R.A.G.E. member or a curious first-timer, it's one of the most accessible entry points into the organized civic momentum that has been reshaping West Englewood block by block.

But the evening gathering isn't the only reason to have R.A.G.E. on your radar this month. The organization's Re-Up Our Future Scholarship is actively open, offering West Englewood young people a direct financial pathway toward higher education — one rooted in the same community-first philosophy that drives everything R.A.G.E. does. It's a tangible reminder that R.A.G.E.'s work isn't just about policy and development — it's about investing in the next generation of West Englewood leaders. The organization is also building toward its signature summer celebration, 'Another So Fresh Celebration,' slated for June 15 at Re-Up at 59th & Racine.

From scholarship dollars to block parties, R.A.G.E. continues to be the connective tissue of this neighborhood's resurgence. Head to ragenglewood.org to RSVP for the May 19 gathering, learn more about the Re-Up Our Future Scholarship, and mark June 15 on your calendar.
