Bridges Back, Fest Is On: Edgewater Gears Up for the Best Summer Yet
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Edgewater ·
Good news is flowing in from two fronts as Edgewater races toward summer — and neighbors have plenty to look forward to.
First, relief for lakefront lovers: the 90-year-old bridges near Edgewater's stretch of the Lakefront Trail are nearly finished with repairs, and the city says work will wrap up just in time for beach season. Pedestrian and bike paths near the bridges will also reopen, meaning joggers, cyclists, and stroller-pushers can get back to their favorite routes without detours right as the warm weather hits its stride.
Meanwhile, Edgewater's signature summer celebration is already building buzz. The Edgewater Music Fest returns August 28–30 with three days, two stages, 30+ bands, 100+ vendors, local food, and great beer — and organizers say sponsor and vendor opportunities are now open. Whether you're a retailer, artist, artisan, restaurant, or food truck, this is your moment to grab a spot at the North Side's coolest street fest. And before summer really kicks off, mark your calendar for the Edgewater Sidewalk Sale on Saturday, June 6, and the Edgewater Chamber's next Happy Hour Networking event at Tesfa Ethiopian Cuisine on June 17 at 5 p.m.
From repaired bridges to a rooftop happy hour to a three-day music blowout, Edgewater's summer calendar is stacking up beautifully. Visit edgewater.org to get involved, snag vendor info, or just stay in the loop!
