First, raise a glass to Apothecary, a one-of-a-kind pharmacy-inspired cocktail lounge that has opened at 3242 N. Clark St. in the heart of Lake View. Helmed by practicing pharmacist Eric Reid, the bar leans into its medical DNA with complex, inventive cocktails — think eucalyptus-forward concoctions and fermented-ingredient highballs crafted by veteran mixologist Zachary Heller, formerly of CH Distillery. Food from chef Jacquelyn Lord rounds out the experience with fried mushrooms, duck confit flatbread, and more. It's the kind of only-in-Lakeview concept that perfectly captures the neighborhood's creative, community spirit.

Meanwhile, pizza lovers on Broadway are rejoicing: Milly's Pizza In The Pan has officially landed at 3409 N. Broadway, bringing its celebrated caramelized-crust pan pies — inspired by Chicago pizza legend Burt Katz — to a new Lake View home. The Broadway outpost offers more seating than other locations and even debuts a limited run of Detroit-style pizzas, a brand-new addition to the Milly's lineup. And on the development front, a construction permit was issued on May 12 for a brand-new 40-unit residential building at 1215–1225 W.
