Beef Up Your Summer Plans: Jeff Fest Gets a Sizzling New Identity for 2026
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Jefferson Park ·
Jefferson Park's beloved summer festival is getting a bold makeover this year — and it smells delicious. The annual arts and music festival at Jefferson Memorial Park is being rebranded as the 'Chicago Italian Beef Fest at Jeff Fest,' a mouth-watering nod to one of Chicago's most iconic culinary creations. Scheduled for July 31–August 2 at Jefferson Memorial Park (4822 N. Long Ave.), the festival is managed by Chicago Events president Hank Zemola, who has helmed Jeff Fest for most of its run since 2001. The Jefferson Park Chamber of Commerce, Jefferson Memorial Park Advisory Council, and the Chicago Park District are all on board as main sponsors, with Jefferson Park Forward and the Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association actively involved in planning.
And the good news keeps coming for neighborhood foodies: the legendary Gale Street Inn, which abruptly shuttered after more than six decades in operation, is officially back. New owner Pablo Villabona has confirmed the restaurant's reopening, giving longtime fans and curious newcomers alike a reason to celebrate on the Northwest Side.
Between a festival that puts Chicago's sandwich heritage front and center and a neighborhood icon returning to its rightful place, Jefferson Park's summer is shaping up to be one for the record books. Mark your calendars for July 31, keep an eye out for Gale Street Inn's opening details, and follow the Jefferson Park Chamber of Commerce for the latest updates on all things happening in the neighborhood!
