Pilsen's Homegrown Event Powerhouse Is Taking Chicago's Festival Scene by Storm
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Pilsen ·
A scrappy, Pilsen-rooted production company is proving that big things really do come from 18th Street. Windy City Events Management — headquartered behind a tech repair shop on Pilsen's most iconic corridor — has quietly grown into one of Chicago's most exciting independent festival producers, and this weekend the city is taking notice. The company's brand-new Forever Mine Music Festival makes its debut this weekend at Union Park, while their marquee event, Michelada Fest, is locked in for June 26–28 and already generating buzz across the city.
Founded in 2023 by Fernando Nieto and Miguel Torres, Windy City Events has evolved from underground warehouse parties into a full-scale operation producing sold-out cultural events that cost millions of dollars to pull off. But the founders haven't forgotten their roots. This year's Michelada Fest will include a free community day — with optional donations benefiting Casa Norte — ensuring the neighborhood that made them can still be part of the fun. The company also produces Sabor Fest, a free street festival designed to keep the grassroots spirit alive as their bigger events scale up.
Local businesses have grown right alongside them. Pilsen-based apparel and wellness brand Sin Título first vended at Michelada Fest in 2021 and has since built a citywide customer base thanks to the platform. It's a true Pilsen success story: neighbors building something together, block by block. Follow Windy City Events at @windycityeventsmgmt and grab your tickets at windycityevents.com before they sell out.
