Albany Park's Youth Choir Is Gearing Up for a New Season — and Registration Is Open Now
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Albany Park ·
Albany Park has always worn its multicultural heart on its sleeve — and few places show that more beautifully than the Albany Park Neighborhood Choir, part of Uniting Voices Chicago. Now, the program is officially inviting young singers to join for the 2026-27 season, with after-school programming beginning in August. Registration is open, and families who sign up by June 7th can save on tuition.
The choir is a stunning reflection of the neighborhood itself. Drawing from Albany Park's rich tapestry of cultures — Latine, Slavic, Filipino, German, Irish, French, Indian, and more — the ensemble weaves together folk and traditional songs from communities all over the world. Singers don't just rehearse in their own backyard, either: Albany Park Neighborhood Choir alumni have performed on the stage of the Lyric Opera of Chicago in productions of Turandot and La bohème, and at Ravinia Festival. The choir has also toured nationally as part of the Bridging America Tour, with stops in Philadelphia, New York City, Los Angeles, Alabama, and Grand Rapids.
With world-class instruction, sessions with international guest artists, and real touring opportunities on the horizon, this is one of Albany Park's most inspiring youth programs — and spots are filling up. Families interested in giving their young singer a life-changing musical home can learn more about the sliding-scale tuition and upcoming season at unitingvoiceschicago.org/albany-park.
