Summer is officially arriving in Edgewater — and the neighborhood is celebrating with a packed lineup of community events kicking off right after Memorial Day weekend.
First, the news farmers market fans have been waiting for: Chicago's only Monday farmers market is making its triumphant return on June 1 at the corner of Broadway & Thorndale. The Edgewater Monday Market brings together 30+ farmers and vendors offering fresh produce, baked goods, meats, sweet treats, prepared meals, refreshments, and live music every Monday through the season — a beloved weekly ritual that's as much about community as it is about great food.
Then, mark Saturday, June 6 as a can't-miss day for the whole neighborhood. The Edgewater Yard Sale takes over residential blocks across the community, with participating block clubs and organizations spanning from BARGE Neighbors and Edgewater Glen Association to Edgewater North Neighbors and the Edgewater Triangle Neighborhood Association — all coordinating one giant, neighborhood-wide treasure hunt. Businesses along key corridors can also join the concurrent Sidewalk Sale through the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce.
