Free Broadway Nights & Summer Camp Fun: Irving Park's Memorial Day Weekend Is Packed
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Irving Park ·
Irving Park neighbors, your summer social calendar is already filling up — and it's only May. Two exciting, family-friendly events are putting the neighborhood in the spotlight this week, and best of all, one of them won't cost you a dime.
First up, Kilbourn Park is rolling out the red carpet for a one-night-only "From Broadway to Hollywood" show, a live performance celebrating the music of classic Broadway and Hollywood. The free event features a talented ensemble cast — including Mattie Cieplak, Ariyana Corena, James Edward Dauphin, Becca Heitz, Tyler Lord, Jacob Pettyjohn, and Willow Schneider — and organizers are teasing a very special surprise appearance. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks for what promises to be a magical evening under the open sky. Admission is completely free.
Meanwhile, the Irving Park YMCA is inviting families to its 2026 Summer Camp Open House on Thursday, May 29 at 5:30 p.m. It's a great chance to meet camp counselors, learn about this summer's programs, and get your kids signed up before spots fill. Whether you're a longtime Y member or just curious about what the neighborhood's beloved community hub has to offer, the open house is open to all. Have you snagged tickets to the Kilbourn Park show, or are you planning to check out the YMCA open house? Let your neighbors know in the comments!
