Sweet Sips & Sweeter Treats: Luckycat Café and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Are Bringing New Flavors to Lake View

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Lake View ·

Lake View's reputation as one of Chicago's premier dining and retail destinations just got even sweeter — literally. Two delicious new arrivals are making their mark on the neighborhood, giving locals even more reason to explore their own backyard.

First, coffee lovers have a fresh new obsession near the Clark, Broadway, and Diversey intersection. Luckycat Café has opened its very first brick-and-mortar location at 2806 N. Clark St., bringing a one-of-a-kind specialty coffee experience to Lake View. Owned by the AAPI- and woman-owned duo Stephanie Bian and Jake Lee, Luckycat built a loyal following through pop-ups before finding its permanent North Side home. The café focuses on specialty coffee sourced from China and roasted right here in Chicago, alongside rotating signature drinks inspired by Asian culinary traditions — an approachable, educational coffee journey unlike anything else on the block.

And if caffeine isn't your indulgence of choice, sweeter news is on the horizon: Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is closing in on a Southport Corridor location in Lake View. Franchisee Tyson Minnick — who also owns the brand's Loop shop — confirmed plans for a new neighborhood outpost featuring the Colorado chain's beloved lineup of chocolate sweets, caramel apples, fudge, and hot chocolate. With a lease signing expected to kick off a six-to-eight-month buildout, the Southport shop could be unwrapping its doors by late 2026.

From artisan coffee to handcrafted confections, Lake View's local scene keeps delivering. Stop by Luckycat Café and give Stephanie and Jake a warm neighborhood welcome — and stay tuned for more chocolate news this fall!
