Pilsen neighbors, dust off your tote bags — farmers market season is officially on the horizon. Two beloved community markets are gearing up for their summer runs, giving Southwest Siders fresh, local options right in their own backyard starting in June.
First up, El Paseo Community Market returns June 15, running every Sunday through October 4 at El Paseo Community Garden, 944 W. 21st St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Then, The Plant Chicago Farmers Market comes back to Davis Park on June 13, operating 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month through November.
