By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Humboldt Park ·

Mark your calendars, Humboldt Park — one of Chicago's most beloved summer traditions is just days away. Puerto Rican Fest 2026 officially kicks off Thursday, June 11, and runs through Sunday, June 14, at Humboldt Park (2800 W. Division St.), bringing four full days of culture, community, and celebration to Paseo Boricua's doorstep.

The festival runs from 3–10 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, then stretches to a full 12–10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Each day has its own flavor: Community Day opens the festivities, followed by Freestyle Friday, Saturday's Noche Tropical, and Sunday's Dia de la Salsa. On the performance side, Puerto Rican dance culture takes center stage with companies performing Bomba, Plena, Salsa, and Merengue all weekend long. Beyond the dancing, attendees can explore artisan vendors, Chicago Makers, and Made in Humboldt Park boutiques, sample authentic Puerto Rican food and tropical beverages, enjoy live artists and theater performances, and let the kids loose at the carnival — with free entry for ages 12 and under.

And the summer fun doesn't stop there. On June 14, the Humboldt Park Boathouse hosts the first installment of Yoga Sundays: Summer Series at 11 a.m., offering a peaceful counterpoint to the weekend's high-energy festivities. Looking further ahead, Colombian Fest Chicago arrives at Humboldt Park on July 17, promising yet another vibrant cultural celebration on the West Side. Humboldt Park's summer calendar is stacking up beautifully — head to puertoricanfest.com for tickets and full fest details.
