Free Grateful Dead Jams & Family Vibes: The Rock and Roll Playhouse Takes Over Gallagher Way This Weekend
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Wrigleyville ·
Wrigleyville's summer just got a whole lot more family-friendly — and completely free. On Monday, June 15, the Rock and Roll Playhouse rolls into Gallagher Way right next to Wrigley Field for a can't-miss all-ages concert experience, performing the music of the Grateful Dead alongside special guests the Barton Hills Choir and David Gans. Every show in the series is free to attend and open to all ages, making it one of the most welcoming community events on the North Side all summer long.
The Rock and Roll Playhouse is part of a bigger series of free Gallagher Way performances lined up through August, with a Beatles-themed show on July 7 and a Bob Marley reggae celebration on August 11 still to come. It's the kind of neighborhood programming that turns a Cubs game-day destination into a true community living room — no ticket required, just good vibes and a love of iconic music.
And with the neighborhood's dining scene continuing to grow — including Kincade's, the beloved 40-year-old Lincoln Park institution, now open at 3660 N. Clark St. in its first-ever Wrigleyville location — there's never been a better moment to spend a long summer evening on this stretch of Chicago's North Side. Pack up the family, head to Gallagher Way for the show, then explore Clark Street after. Wrigleyville is calling — and the music is free!
