Andersonville's 60th Midsommarfest Drew 80,000 Neighbors — and the Swedish American Museum Stole the Show

Andersonville's Clark Street was electric this past weekend as the neighborhood wrapped up a landmark Midsommarfest — its 60th anniversary edition — and the numbers say it all. Over three days, an estimated 80,000 people flooded the stretch from Foster Avenue to Gregory Street for what organizers are calling one of the festival's most memorable years yet.
While four stages hosted 50 musical acts across the weekend, one of the most beloved corners of the fest was the Swedish American Museum's dedicated stage, which anchored the celebration's deep Scandinavian roots. Sunday's programming was a community highlight: the fan-favorite Miss Foozie Pet Parade kicked things off at noon, followed by the acrobatic Jessie White Tumblers and a rousing closing set by Sixteen Candles.
