Brewed With Love: Dots Cafe Brings a Brother-Duo's Family Legacy to Roscoe Village

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Roscoe Village ·

There's a new reason to linger a little longer on Addison Street. Dots Cafe is making its way to 2000 W. Addison Street in Roscoe Village, and the story behind it is as warm as a fresh cup of coffee. Two brothers, Michael and Rob Young, are the hearts behind the concept — and the name itself tells the whole tale.

The cafe is named after the brothers' grandmother, nicknamed 'Dot,' who turned 100 years old last year and has a lifelong love for coffee and good company. Michael and Rob wanted to bottle that same energy — the kind that makes people feel welcome the moment they walk through the door. The city issued a building permit earlier this year and construction has been progressing, with the brothers sharing updates along the way on their Instagram page @_dotscafe. It's exactly the kind of thoughtful, community-rooted business that fits right into the fabric of the 'Village Within the City.'

And Dots Cafe isn't the only new arrival worth watching. The Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce has also teased that The Denim Lounge in Motion is coming soon to Roscoe Street, adding yet another exciting layer to the neighborhood's ever-evolving business corridor. Keep an eye on lakeviewroscoevillage.org and follow @_dotscafe on Instagram to stay up to date on Dots Cafe's opening. The Village keeps getting better — one new neighbor at a time.
