Southwest Side Salutes America: Garfield Ridge's Own Geno Randazzo Leads the 2026 Patriot's Day Parade

Garfield Ridge had plenty of reasons to stand up and cheer this week — and on Thursday evening, the neighborhood did exactly that. The Midway Chamber of Commerce's 2026 Patriot's Day Parade rolled down Archer Avenue on June 25, and leading the way was a familiar Southwest Side face: Geno Randazzo of All Exterior Contractors, who was named this year's grand marshal.

According to the Southwest Chicago Post, the parade stepped off at 7 p.m. at Archer and Parkside, winding west all the way to Kennedy High School. For Randazzo, the honor carried special weight this year. 'This is quite an honor for me. It's humbling, and I'm grateful,' he said — adding that the timing felt especially meaningful as the nation marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Randazzo is a well-known community fixture on the Southwest Side, recognized not just for his work in the contracting business but for his long-standing support of neighborhood events and organizations, including as a Gold Sponsor of the Garfield Ridge Neighborhood Watch.

The Patriot's Day Parade is one of the Midway Chamber of Commerce's signature traditions, drawing families, local businesses, and community pride out to Archer Avenue each summer. If you caught the festivities last night, share your photos on the Socialhood feed and tag your neighbors — moments like these are what make Garfield Ridge one of Chicago's most spirited communities!
