Humboldt Park's Uniting Voices Choir Is Gearing Up for a New Season — and the Neighborhood Should Be Proud

By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/Humboldt Park ·

There's no shortage of world-class culture in Humboldt Park this summer, and one of its most enduring musical gems is about to take center stage again. The Uniting Voices Humboldt Park Neighborhood Choir Program is now enrolling for its 2026–27 program year, with after-school sessions set to begin in August — and the invitation is open to all.

The choir has built a truly remarkable résumé rooted right here on the West Side. Its young singers have performed at the Lyric Opera of Chicago in productions including Hansel & Gretel, Carmen, Turandot, and La bohème, taken the stage at Ravinia Festival for Bernstein's MASS, and toured to Michigan, Puerto Rico, Wisconsin, and Missouri. That kind of world-class opportunity — available free to Humboldt Park kids — is exactly the kind of neighborhood treasure that deserves a spotlight.

With summer in full swing at the park's historic fieldhouse and Boathouse at 1301 N. Humboldt Drive, now is the perfect moment to connect with everything the neighborhood has to offer. Whether you're a young singer looking for your next big stage or a parent searching for transformative after-school programming, Uniting Voices wants to hear from you. Head to unitingvoiceschicago.org to learn more and sign up before the August season launch.
