Bikes, Sprinklers & Kona Ice: North Center's 4th of July Parade at Town Square Is Tomorrow — Plus, a Summer of Free Concerts Starts Next Week
By Socialhood News · Il/Chicago/North Center ·
North Center neighbors, your most festive weekend of the summer is already here — and it's happening right at the heart of the neighborhood. Tomorrow, the 4th of July, Northcenter Town Square at 4100 N. Damen Ave. is hosting the neighborhood's beloved Independence Day parade, and this one is as grassroots and joyful as North Center gets. Neighbors are invited to decorate their bikes, wagons, strollers, and scooters and join the parade loop around the Town Square — no float required, just community spirit. After the parade, cool off the old-fashioned Chicago way: a fire hydrant sprinkler will be running, and Kona Ice treats will be on hand to keep everyone refreshed. Best of all, it's completely free.
And if that's not enough to fill your summer calendar, mark Tuesday, July 8th in permanent ink: the Northcenter Summer Concert Series officially kicks off that day, running all the way through August 12th. It's one of the North Side's most beloved warm-weather rituals — free, family-friendly, and set right in the neighborhood that knows how to throw a block party better than anyone.
Whether you're rolling up on a ribbon-wrapped bike tomorrow or staking out your lawn chair for the first concert of the season, this is North Center summer at its finest. Check northcenterchamber.com for full event details and RSVP info — because in North Center, the best holidays are always celebrated together.
